Tweet Tweet! This baby bird nest craft is super cute and fun to make. Can you guess what we used for the baby birds? We traced our hand and cut it out! Tweet tweet!
Things You’ll Need:
- small paper plate
- scissors
- white glue
- brown paint
- paintbrush
- glue stick
- googly eyes or marker
- construction paper in a few different colors: different shades of brown for the nest, a color for the beak and for your birds, and a color for your background. Sky blue or tree green works great!
Steps
For the nest, cut a small paper plate in half and paint the bottom of it brown. Set aside to dry.
Then, cut some strips from the brown paper. You can layer the pieces of brown paper together and cut a bunch at the same time. Once your brown plate is dry, glue the plate down to the background paper using a glue stick. Cover the paper plate with white glue and place the brown strips onto the plate, overlapping them to make a neat nest texture.
For the birds, trace your hand on a colored piece of paper and cut it out. Fit the hand in the plate and trim the bottom so it’s just the fingers sticking out of the nest.
To make an easy beak, first cut a triangle shape out of the colored paper you’d like to use, and then cut away a smaller triangle inside.
Glue the beaks and eyes into place on your bird’s head, and add in an extra details you like.
