Grumble, Stumble and Humble are excited for Christmas, are you? We have an adorable Bumble Nums ornament craft to help bring some spirit of the season to any classroom, mantle or tree. Choose your favorite character or make all three!
Things you’ll need:
- 2.5” foam balls
- Red and white pipe cleaners
- Small white pom-poms (hands and hat) two sizes
- Craft paint – red, orange, purple, white and turquoise
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Plastic eyes
- Markers
- White craft glue
- Ribbon (to hang ornament)
- Push pin
To make Grumble and/or Humble, firmly roll your foam ball onto a hard surface. They both have an oval shape.
Pierce four lengths of pipe cleaner into the foam ball and trim them to size to make some arms and legs.
Fit the head with a white pipe cleaner for the hat brim.
Trace a line and set aside for later.
Twist a red and white pipe cleaner together to make a scarf. Set it aside for now, you can dress them up later!
To secure the arms and legs, add a dab of glue to tips of the pipe cleaners and insert them into the ball again. Glue small pompoms to the ends for hands and set aside to dry.
Paint your Bumble Num purple (Humble), orange (Stumble) or turquoise (Grumble). Next, paint the hat red. Tip: You can use a pin to help hold the Bumble Num while you paint to help keep your fingers paint free!
Once the paint is dry, glue the hat brim, pompoms and eyes in place. Draw the eyebrows and mouth with a marker.
Mix some white paint into your Bumble Num’s color to make a light shade of paint for the cheeks and tummy.
To hang your Bumble Num on a tree: tie a knot into a folded length of ribbon. Pierce a pin through the knot and push in the top of the head.
