If you’ve been singing along to our new song “At The North Pole” then you’ve met our trio of candy cane singers. Here’s a quick craft to make good use of any extra candy canes. TIP: Keep the candy canes wrapped as you craft to make an edible gift or unwrap them for a cute tree ornament.
Things you’ll need
- Candy canes
- Blue, red and cream construction paper
- Ribbon
- Black and blue markers
- Glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Pipe cleaners
- Bottle cap
Using a pencil, trace a bottle cap for the eyes on cream paper. Draw the pupil with a black marker then cut out the circles.
Trace your bottle cap onto a red piece of paper and cut your circles in half to make the eyelids.
Draw singing mouth shapes with a pencil on blue paper and colour the inside of the mouth with a blue marker.
Twist a piece of pipe cleaner around the top of the candy cane to support the eyes. Remember: You can unwrap the candy canes for a decoration or leave them wrapped up to give as a an edible Holiday treat!
Tie a bow around the candy cane.
Assemble the eyes and glue onto the pipe cleaner. Glue the mouth in place.
You can display your candy cane trio by sticking them in a mason jar or vase with salt or sugar “snow” or hang them on your tree!
If you haven’t heard our crooning candy canes yet, listen to them on our brand new festive favorite, “At The North Pole”!
