How To Teach Boom Chicka Boom

Caitie is sharing helpful tips for learning in the classroom or at home using the song Boom Chicka Boom from Super Simple Songs! She sings the song and shows us fun gestures, too! This a great repeat-after-me song to encourage vocalization and making different voices.

Try these ideas in the classroom or at home!

  • This song is all about having fun and vocalizing. Encourage your students to repeat after you and try the different voices.
  • Try singing in other voices, too! Ask your students what voices they want to try. Use your imagination and have fun with it!
  • You can sing in different voices to celebrate different holidays, too. Try singing in different spooky voices for halloween, like a ghost or a witch. Or sing like Santa at Christmas time! You can also try singing in different emotions, if you are learning about feelings. Try singing it super happy, or sad, or angry!
  • Have your students take turns being the leader. They can pick different voices to sing too.
  • You can also sing the song in a circle and have your students switch up who the leader is after each verse. Instead of announcing what voice to sing it like, the leader can call out another person’s name. For example: “one more time… like, Tobee!” Then Tobee has a chance to be the leader.
  • You can also come up with different movements, as well as voices. For example, instead of saying, “one more time, like a monster!” You can sing, “one more time, while jumping!” And then do the whole verse while jumping!
  • Use this song anytime your students need a little brain break. It’s also a great way to start or end the day with a burst of fun energy!
