Now for the fun part! Okay, well all the steps are fun but this one is extra fun. Pour some white craft paint onto a small paper plate. Roll your painted pinecone in white paint to coat the tips of the pinecone.

Twist two or three pipe cleaners together to make a long piece of garland. Wedge the tip of the pipe cleaner in the bottom of the pinecone and continue twisting it up.

Dip mini pom poms in some white glue and add them to your miniature tree. Decorate your tree however you like for some extra flair!

You can make your tree stand up on its own by making a tree base. Cut a quarter of an inch off a paper tube and glue cotton to its surface to make a snowy base. We unravelled some cotton balls to make ours.

Adult step: attach your pinecone Christmas tree to the base using a hot glue gun.

To make your tree into a Christmas tree ornament, tie a loop of ribbon in a knot. Use hot glue to attach it to the top of the tree. We added a star detail to ours. You can make one with yellow construction paper or use a shiny gold or silver star sticker.
