Let’s get super silly and make some funny expressions! Making faces is a quick way to engage little ones and grab their attention. Sharing this playful activity opens up conversations about emotions and makes practicing parts of the face vocabulary extra fun.
Make these funny face accessories to get the party started in the classroom, or to make a silly selfie station at a party, or to follow along with your favorite Super Simple song. Whatever you use them for, we know it will be super silly!
Things you’ll need
- Construction paper
- Paper straws
- Scissors
- Markers
- Tape
- Bottle cap
- Small bowl
Steps
Use a small bowl to trace the curve of a mouth with a straight line on top.
Draw the same shaped mouth within the mouth. Make some white teeth and glue them in place. You can make a tongue with a marker.
Make a circle by tracing a bottle cap. This will make a round nose. Draw two circular nostrils on either side.
Glue the nose and mouth together.
Use a black marker to trace a bottle cap for two overlapping circles. Draw in the pupils.
Make eyelashes or eyebrows and glue them together.
Tape a paper straw behind the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Now you’re ready to get silly!
To make a silly mustache, fold a piece of paper in half. Draw and cut out a half-mustache shape to the folded edge.
Open it up to reveal a full mustache! You can cut out a silly nose and attach the pieces together, securing a straw on the back.
Make a puppy dog snout and some sly eyes.
Make some big eyes and a surprised mouth!
We LOVE to see you smile!
