- small rubber bands
- jar lid
- large popsicle stick
- hot glue
- things to decorate: ribbon stickers

Steps
Glue 8 small beads, 4 on each side to the back edge of your jar lid. This will hold the rubber bands in place. Stretch 4 small rubber bands between the beads lengthwise, two in the center beads. Glue the large popsicle stick to the top of the beads on the back in the same direction of the strings. Decorate using ribbon for the frets and stickers .
Castanet
Supplies
- bottle lids
- bristol board
- hot glue
- ribbon
Steps
Cut a rectangle out of bristol board. Fold down the center lengthwise. The length should be enough so that both bottle caps tops touch flat when folded together. Glue the bottle caps into place with a hot glue gun on each end of the paper. Measure ribbon to wrap around your thumb and your middle finger glue at the top and bottom centre of the castanet. Decorate if you like.
Drum
Supplies
- balloon
- scissors
- rubber bands
- empty clean preserved can
- 2 unsharpened pencils
- 2 dense pom poms
- things to decorate with: stickers, ribbon, coloured tape
Steps
Cut the stem off of a balloon and stretch to fit over an empty can until the top is flat. Hold into place with a wide rubber band or a few small ones. For the mallets, use a hot glue gun to glue dense pom poms onto the ends of the new pencils. Decorate your drum with tape and stickers.
Shaker
Supplies
- small clean empty water or juice bottles
- rice or couscous
- food coloring (optional)
- funnel
- things to decorate : stickers, ribbon
Steps
With a funnel, pour rice or couscous into the bottle. You could add a couple of drops of food coloring to the bottle if you like, shake until you reached your desired color and decorate your shaker!
