Do you love parties? It’s time to party, we’re having a monster party! Our favorite part of a great party is the music and the dancing. (Okay, okay. The food and friends are pretty great parts, too.) Make some groovy monsters to play along with our song Monster Party! They can swing their arms and dance like no other monster you’ve seen! The lively song will have everyone up dancing, and these monster puppets will be fun for little ones to play with.
TIP: You can make an easier version of this craft by simply glueing the arms in place. The puppets will still be adorable as they bop up and down to the music!
Things you’ll need
- FREE printable
- Plastic beads
- Ball pins
- Scrap piece of foam or cardboard
- Jumbo popsicle sticks
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Wire cutters
- Safety goggles
Steps
First, print out your free monster printables. Next, cut out all of the shapes along the dotted lines. Set the arms aside for now.
Use your glue stick to add glue to a popsicle stick. Glue about half way down, leaving a handle. Stick the characters’ bodies onto the popsicle stick with the feet sticking out.
Line up the arms on top of the cut out figure. Use a piece of foam or cardboard behind these layers as you pierce a pin through them to make a small hole. This will protect your work surface. Work safe!
Next, flip the print over and use your hot glue gun to fasten beads to each hand and shoulder. Also, glue beads that surround the pinholes you just made.
Carefully push pins through the holes at the shoulder and through the bead at the back.
Use safety goggles for this next part, and be sure to do this in a kid-free zone. With wire cutters, snip the excess pin from the back.
Add more hot glue to the holes to secure the pins in place.
Once the glue has set, it’s time to make your monsters dance. Let’s PARTY!!!
