Coloring is a wonderful and creative pastime – some even say that coloring is relaxing, and can reduce stress and anxiety. We know the right color to pick and we try to stay in the lines. But sometimes, it is fun to throw the rule book out the window and just have some silly fun.
That is what this coloring activity is all about! Instead of picking the colors we use based on the world around us, we let the color spinner decide, and we end up with a topsy turvy, creative world that we can only imagine! You can download and print our color spinner for this activity. You can also use our specially designed coloring page for the activity, or use one of your favorite coloring books. It might get really silly, but that’s part of the fun!
Start by picking a part of the coloring page to color. Then spin the color spinner to select a color! You might end up with purple grass, and a blue sun! No matter what color the spinner chooses, use that color to color in the selected part of the coloring page.
This is a great time to review colors with your little ones. Ask them what each color is when it is picked on the color spinner. If it is something different, like the color red for the elephant, ask your little one what color elephants are in real life. It can be lots of silly fun to color things differently and imagine a whole new world. You never know what color will be coming next, and you’ll get something different every time.
