It’s back to school time, and time for back to school photos! Taking pictures on the first day of school is a wonderful way to capture the passing of time as your child gets older, and you’ll want a wonderful way to showcase them for all to see. Try making this school bus picture frame to show off those precious moments. Here is everything you need to make this craft!
MATERIALS
- Craft paint – yellow, black, silver, red and orange
- Craft glue or glue gun
- Buttons – red and orange
- Gardening shears, or heavy duty scissors to cut popsicle sticks
- 8 Large popsicle sticks
STEP 1
Paint 6 popsicle sticks yellow, 1 popsicle stick silver, and 1 popsicle stick black.
STEP 2
Cut the black popsicle stick into 3 equal pieces with your heavy duty scissors or shears.
STEP 3
Glue! Place the two yellow side popsicle sticks into place. With a glue gun or craft glue, glue 2 yellow popsicle sticks across the top, and the silver popsicle stick on the bottom. The silver popsicle stick is your bumper! Then glue 2 more yellow popsicle sticks on top of the silver popsicle stick. The two end pieces of the black popsicle stick will be your wheels! Glue the top straight edge end of the wheels to the underside of the bumper and glue the centerpiece of the black popsicle stick where the license plate would be. Glue the red and orange buttons as the tail lights, or paint them on if you do not have buttons.
STEP 4
Time to add the photo! Tape your favorite photo to the back of the frame. You could add a magnet or attach a string to the back so you can hang your picture. The centerpiece of the black popsicle stick acting as the license plate could also be a great place to add in the name of the person in the photo, or the year of school they are starting!
You can tape a loop of string to hang the picture frame, or simply lean it against a wall on a shelf.
