Steps
Here’s how to make a snowflake!

If you are using our printable template, print it out. You can make a snowflake that looks like Lulu The Owl, or Juno The Star. You can also use plain white paper to make your own snowflake.

Cut out the square from the template. If using plain white paper, cut your piece of paper into a square. An easy way to make a perfect square is to fold the paper into a triangle, lining up the edges, and then cutting off the extra strip of paper. Open up the triangle, and you have yourself a circle!

Fold the square in half along the long line, making a triangle.

Fold the triangle in half again, making a smaller triangle. If you’re using the template, be sure to keep the design facing up.

Fold the two outside flaps behind the middle section, one at a time.

Once they are both folded, use your scissors to cut off the extra triangles sticking out.

This will make your snowflake nice and round!

Now, carefully cutout all the grey area from the template. If you are making your own design, you can draw what you’d like to cut away or just start cutting shapes into the paper! This part can be a bit tricky because there are many layers of paper to cut through and the cuts are small, it can take some practice!

Use a hole punch to easily cut out the eye from the template. It’s a great way to get a small circle shape in the middle of your snowflake!

Now you are ready to unfold and reveal your beautiful shape! Carefully unwarp each fold…

Until your snowflake is revealed! If you’d like to make your snowflakes lay flat, we suggest ironing your finished snowflake on low for five seconds on each side.

Hang your snowflakes in the window to make a snowy scene! Make a bunch of different snowflakes and see what shapes you can find in them. Can you see Lulu and Juno in the snowflakes?

You can watch Lulu and Juno in the music videos for our songs Star Light, Star Bright, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Beddy-Bye Butterfly.
We hope you enjoy these Lulu and Juno inspired snowflakes, and coming up with your own! No two snowflakes are alike, each one will be a little different. That’s what makes snowflakes so special.
