Hello, little baby sparrows! We made a lovely mobile craft with our small feathered friends from the show Treetop Family.
This mobile craft is a perfect addition to learning about wind, flying and birds. It makes a nice present, too. Let’s get started!
Things You’ll Need
- Free Printable Resource Sheet
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paper Straw
- Needle and thread
- String
First, carefully fold your resource sheet in half along the fold line indicated.
Add glue to the back of both sides and stick it together.
TIP: If you would like more baby sparrows for your mobile, print out a few extra resource sheets.
Cut out your birds.
Pierce a hole in the top of your birds with a needle or a push pin.
Next, thread some string through the hole and tie a knot.
Now that we’ve made our birds, it’s time to hang them. First, cut a nice long length of string at least four times longer than your straw. You can use your straw to measure it! Next, thread the string through the straw and tie a knot to form a triangle shape. Keep the excess length of string so you can hang your mobile.
Now you can tie your birds to the straw with a knot. Tie them at different lengths so they can fly next to each other. Hang your mobile and enjoy!
