If you’re happy and you know it, make some DIY paper spinners for playtime! These Noodle & Pals spinners are pretty speedy to assemble, and they’re sure to inspire super simple fun at home or in the classroom, too. You can spin them at the same time to see who’s spinner spins the longest, or try sending your spinners on a race course. You can even sing “If You’re Happy And You Know It Spin Around” while the spinners spin, spin, spin!
Few can resist the whirl of a great spinning top, after all, so let’s get started!
Things you’ll need
- Printed Resource Sheet
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- A penny or a nickel
- Glue stick
- Craft knife
- Cutting mat
- Hot glue gun
Steps
First, print out your resource sheet and loosely cut out the spinners.
Glue the printouts onto a sheet of construction paper using your glue stick. This is going to add some strength to the spinner, which will help it spin more effectively. You can skip this step if you print the spinners on thicker paper stock.
Once the glue is dry, cut out the circles.
With a craft knife, carefully cut along the perforated line in the center of the spinner. Cut it the same size as your coin for a snug fit.
Add some hot glue to the underside of the spinner to secure the coin in place.
Now you’re ready for spinning fun with Noodle & Pals!
Be sure to listen to the Noodle & Pals song “If You’re Happy And You Know It Spin Around“.
