Meow! Do you have a family pet? Since we made a Paper Plate Dog Craft, we thought it was high time to add some cats to the meow-mix. Make these adorable crafts for an animal theme while revisiting the Super Simple Song “I Have A Pet”. Talk about cat families and make the Paper Plate Lion Craft too!
Paper plate crafts are easy to set up and allow children to get creative. Choosing their colors, shapes, and characteristics are all part of the fun. Every cat is uniquely cat-tastic, so encourage little ones to get creative. We hope you’re ready to let the fur fly! Let’s do this!
Things you’ll need
- Paper plate
- Construction paper
- Googly eyes
- Craft paint
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Marker
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Steps
First, turn your paper plate over. Paint it in the color of your choice and even make a pattern. Spots, stripes, and patches will look great!
Next, layer some construction paper together and cut out some triangular ears. You can make smaller pink triangles to go inside the ear.
Glue these pieces together. We rounded off the corners of our triangles, too.
To make the nose, cut out a small triangle and round off the edges. Glue the nose in place. Glue the googly eyes in place.
Use a marker to draw the mouth.
Cut thin strips of paper to make some whiskers and glue them in place.
