This craft is a wonderful way to include your little learners in the decorating process. These parrots are simple to put together, and are made with the cut outs of your own hands and feet! It’s a great way to personalize your decorations for the people who will be using the room most often. The parrots can be attached to the wall, or hung from the ceiling. You can also make a big tree from craft paper for the wall, and attach all the parrots to the tree to make a beautiful mural piece that everyone helped to make.
Spreadable Joy: The Advent Calendar
Advent Calendars are typically found during the holiday season, but we think they are wonderful anytime of year and can look great hanging from a string with clothespins. Use colorful envelopes or decorate your own any way you like, and write a number on each one. You can use any number of envelopes as you like! Place a note inside of the envelops and hang them in order from a string. You can plan your advent calendar anyway you like, opening one a day, or making one day a week the special day to open an envelope. Inside the envelope could be anything! A special message, an activity to do, a song to sing, or people’s birthdays! The envelopes can be reused many times by changing the paper inside, making a wonderful interactive decoration that can last all year!
Make Your Own Fish Aquarium Using CDs!
Many of us have old CDs that no longer have any purpose… until now! Our CD fish look great and are super easy to make! You can use the CD fish to decorate a whole underwater wall, or create a diorama to place somewhere in the room. They also are great hung up, either from the ceiling, desk or shelves. Finally the old CDs can be used for something useful!
Spreading Joy #6 – Kindness Rocks
We love these kindness rocks as a way to add some color and positive messages throughout the room. These decorations are made just with paint and rocks that you can find outside! Make a number of rocks, all different colors, and place them throughout the classroom – on windowsills, shelves and corners of the room. Little ones will love to find them, and they help add some simple color to otherwise bare spaces!
