We’ve got a great craft activity for all the little artists out there! This abstract art activity is a free form craft where anything goes! Abstract art is a modern form of art that doesn’t look exactly like other things around us. It might make you think, or laugh, or feel something new. It might look like something to you, and something completely different to someone else. Or it might not look anything at all! Abstract art can be anything you can imagine!
In this abstract art activity, we give suggestions for different techniques to try in your abstract art piece. Many of these techniques have been used in some our favorite Super Simple crafts – you might recognize a few! Each one makes a different kind of shape, pattern and texture, and you can use any colors you like.
Try showing your little one a few of these different techniques, and see which ones they like. Some of these techniques are perfect for the youngest of artists, and some are great for artists who have developed their fine motor skills a bit more. Give it a try and see what your little artist comes up with!

You can let your imagination and creativity run wild on your paper with these different art techniques, perfect for little artists. If you would like a bit of structure for your abstract art piece, try starting by drawing a squiggly line all over your paper, connecting the two ends of the line so you make different sections.
